Hazy Tales ‘Clay Club’ offers holiday classes:

Come be creative in the school holidays at Hazy Tales Studio. You will be given lots of different ideas or come up with your own unique vision. Not only will the kids have fun and enjoy getting their hands messy in the clay, they will also get something to keep from the experience. A fab mixture of fun and creativeness to keep the little ones entertained in the holidays. And not just for the kids – buy an extra ticket and make something yourself! You my stay and watch or drop off. All ages welcome – please text if you need any advice. These sessions will be 1 1/2 to 2 hours – the days & times are listed at the bottom of the page in the events calendar.

The Clay Club has exclusive access of the studio during their time period. It is a stylish light filled venue, with floor to ceiling windows & polished concrete floors. We are tucked away in Drysdale on the Bellarine Peninsula, a short 20 minute drive from Geelong.

Fee: $55 per person for 1 1/2 to 2 hours
includes clay to make an animal or bowl, underglaze, glazes and 2 kiln firings.

All pieces that you create are dried out fully, bisque fired & then glazed & high fired. Products are usually ready to collect approximately 6 weeks after your event. Please ensure you remember to come collect your work as due to limited space we can’t keep these indefinitely.

A little note about Ceramics & Firing

Part of the magic of working with clay is that every piece is completely unique. Ceramics is also a process with many variables, and although we take great care with every piece, occasionally unexpected things can happen during drying, glazing or kiln firing.

Cracking, warping, glaze variations or, very occasionally, a piece breaking during firing can occur even when clay has been prepared and handled correctly. This is an inherent part of the ceramics process and is uncommon, but it is something to be aware of when booking a pottery experience.

If an unexpected firing issue does occur, you are welcome to come back and remake the affected piece at no additional cost, or we can provide clay for you to remake it at home and return it to us for glazing and firing.

Your workshop fee covers the complete creative experience, including studio time, instruction, clay and materials, glazing and firing, as well as the workshop experience and a drink.
